Dr. Joe Hines Martin
Dr. Joe Hines Martin was born and raised in Ripley, Mississippi. He grew up on a cattle farm where he found his true passion for animals and Veterinary Medicine. Following in his father’s footsteps, he has been a Veterinarian for over thirty-five years. Dr. Martin graduated from Mississippi State University in 1979 with a BS in Animal Science. From there, he decided to continue his education at Mississippi State University where he received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1981. Through his experience in small and large animal medicine, Dr. Martin consults his clients on the best medicine for their pets. He also offers specialty services such as orthopedic, gastrointestinal, dental, and ophthalmology procedures.
Dr. Martin has owned and operated his own animal hospital and private practice for 18 years. In the winter of 2016, he decided to become the owner of the Fort Oglethorpe Pet Wellness Center. He looks forward to serving his community but is most grateful to continue fulfilling his dream of taking care of his clients and their pets.
Dr. Andrew Durden
Dr. Andrew Durden graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014 with high honors. He has been practicing veterinary medicine in the area for over 8 years and has enjoyed every second of it. He has a special interest in preventative medicine, dermatology, complex internal medicine cases and feline medicine. While in veterinary school he received multiple awards for excellence in ophthalmology and oncology. Dr. Durden and his wife, who is also a veterinarian, have two adorable cats. He is excited to continue to serve his community and is dedicated to provide the best care possible to both his patients and clients.
